Qingdao Railway Station (Old German Station)
青岛站(泰安路2号)
German-built clock-tower station still in service
- Address
- 2 Tai'an Road, Shinan
Walk over from Zhanqiao Pier and the slim clock tower is the first thing you spot. The Germans built the station around 1900 as the end of the railway to Jinan, and the lines look more like a small European terminus than a Chinese one. It is still a working station, so you don't need a ticket to stand on the forecourt and look up. Inside is a modernized waiting hall.
