After the switchbacks you step out of the car park and look up a staircase lined with white naga balustrades to a 45-metre Buddha clad in white Burmese marble, bright even under cloud. Walk to the edge of the terrace and you get Chalong Bay and its islands on one side and the Kata–Karon coast on the other. There's no ticket; instead you can write your name and a wish on a marble tile as a donation. The site shut after a deadly landslide on the hill on 23 August 2024 and reopened for regular visits, under temple management, on 3 March 2026.
