Opened in 1922 and credited with serving the first omurice three years later. The story goes that the owner wrapped ketchup fried rice in an omelette for a regular who always ordered an omelette with plain rice. Inside the Showa-era wooden house, tatami rooms look onto a small Japanese garden. The egg is thin and tender and the rice lightly seasoned, which makes it an easy pick for kids and parents.
