Big orange boats shuttle between Whitehall Terminal at the bottom of Manhattan and St George on Staten Island in 25 minutes. It's a city-run commuter service, so there are no tickets and no fare. As you pull out, Lower Manhattan's towers bunch together behind you, and the Statue of Liberty slides past on the right. There's little to do on the other side, so most people walk straight round to the next boat back.
