This 1914 mansion of steel magnate Henry Clay Frick is the museum itself. Rembrandt, Vermeer and Goya hang in what were living rooms and a library, so it feels like touring someone's home. The garden court with its fountain is a world away from Fifth Avenue. It reopened after its renovation and caps visitor numbers, so rooms stay hushed.
