One of the biggest art museums in New York, and far calmer than the Met. The Egyptian galleries are strong, and on the fourth floor Judy Chicago's The Dinner Party spreads out as a huge triangular table. The Brooklyn Botanic Garden is next door, so in spring it pairs nicely with the cherry blossoms for a half-day. Some first Saturday evenings have free entry and live performances.
