A massive Gothic hall church in red brick, topped by two towers wearing green onion domes, the silhouette you'll see from everywhere in Munich. Inside, white pillars shoot up like a forest, and in the entrance floor there's a single black footprint: the Teufelstritt, left (so the story goes) by the devil stamping in fury at a church he thought had no windows. The south tower can be climbed, a short spiral stair and then a lift, to a lookout room 80 metres up.
