- Piazza di Santa Maria delle Grazie 2; entrance to the old refectory is to the left of the church
From the church you pass through a series of glass airlock doors into the old monks' refectory, kept at a steady climate. One whole end wall is Leonardo's Last Supper: bigger than you expect, faded, yet the ripple of shock through the apostles at 'one of you will betray me' reads clearly. Montorfano's Crucifixion covers the opposite wall. Only 40 people go in at a time, for exactly 15 minutes, so the room stays hushed.
