Madrid's Ritz opened in 1909, and Mandarin Oriental gave it a major overhaul in 2020. The Prado is just across the road and the Retiro a few minutes away, which makes it ideal for a museum queue in the morning and a park stroll after lunch. The indoor pool has a chandelier and a ceiling that twinkles like stars, and it turns up in nearly every guest photo roundup. With 153 rooms, it is not a big hotel.
