Ask anyone in Lisbon where to eat shellfish and this is the name you hear. Tanks and iced crustaceans greet you at the door, and the table fills with crisp buttered bread. Prawns and crab are priced by the kilo, so the bill takes shape plate by plate. Clams in garlic and olive oil are mostly an excuse to mop up the broth, and the house ritual is to finish with a prego, a small steak sandwich. The queue is long enough that there is a whole room just for waiting.
