A kissaten, an old-style coffee house, opened on the Teramachi arcade in 1932. The dark wood walls and vintage signs are intact, and from 8 a.m. the smell of coffee drifts into the arcade. Thick French toast (¥800) and hot cakes (¥800) are the draw, ¥1,400 as a set with coffee. Upstairs is a lunch-only dining room (11:00–14:30).
