The original branch of a Kyoto-born tonkatsu chain, at the entrance to the Sanjo arcade. A mortar of sesame arrives first: grind it, pour in the thick and thin sauces, and dip. The sangen-ton loin set (¥2,560) is the standard; Hirata Farm kinka-ton loin (¥3,260) is limited each day. Cabbage refills are unlimited (official), and reviewers say rice and miso soup come again too.
