Nene, widow of Hideyoshi, founded this temple in 1606 to honor her husband, and it sits just up the stone steps from Ninenzaka. A bamboo grove path leads to a garden where raked gravel is drawn into waves beside a pond. After dark the garden is lit and the lights reflect in the pond. This year's autumn evening opening runs from October 23 to December 13.
