Kobe's best-known confectioner, famous for gaufres: crisp wafer-thin discs sandwiching cream. The company marked 120 years in 2017, so it dates to 1897. Buy gaufres to take home in the shop, then head to the back café, L'Espoir, for a copper-griddled hotcake (¥1,210) or a seasonal parfait. Autumn 2026 brought a Pione and Muscat grape parfait (¥1,980).
