The name Kobe people reach for when they mean yoshoku, Japan's take on Western food. It started in Shinkaichi in 1952 and is now on its fourth generation. The demi-glace takes five days, and the stars are the fillet beef cutlet and omurice. The Motomachi branch sits below the shopping arcade, so you can queue dry on rainy days, and there's counter seating for solo diners.
