On Lake Brienz; take the boat from Brienz, then the funicular up

The falls drop in a staircase of steps toward Lake Brienz. A historic funicular climbs from the boat landing to a grand hotel at the top, and trails run right beside the water, including a stretch that passes behind the spray. Arriving by lake boat and riding the old funicular up makes the trip a half-day outing in itself.
