In the middle of Haleiwa town, a line stretches in front of an old general-store building. Finely shaved ice is packed into a dome and striped with red, yellow and blue syrups. It's sugar syrup in the end, and many call it a taste you already know, but on a hot North Shore drive it hits differently. Obama stopped here too.
