It sits inside the Ko Olina resort area, a long drive west of Waikiki, right on a breakwater-sheltered lagoon where the water stays almost flat, which is handy with kids. Opened in 2016, it has big rooms and double vanities in the bathrooms. Shops and restaurants can't match Waikiki, but many guests say they hadn't realised Oahu had more to offer than Waikiki.
