An old merchant house on Tran Phu St that shows ceramics recovered from the sea off Hoi An and from the town itself. Chinese, Japanese and Southeast Asian pieces sit side by side, which makes it easy to picture how busy this port once was. The rooms are small, with timber posts and low ceilings, so it works as a cool place to duck out of the midday sun. Even if pottery leaves you cold, the house itself is worth a look. A lap takes 15 to 20 minutes.
