The place to see locals actually shopping among all the souvenir streets. Early in the morning the river end is laid out with baskets of fish and prawns straight off the boats, and women in conical hats trim greens and herbs. Inside there's a food hall of stalls selling cao lau, mi quang and banh xeo, and a fabric section where tailor customers pick their cloth. Being in the middle of the old town, plenty of stalls quote tourist prices.
