Finished in 1880, this red-brick cathedral is said to have been built with bricks shipped from France. A major restoration that began in 2017 is still running in autumn 2026, so you can't go inside as a sightseer. Still, two freshly gilded crosses went back on top of the bell towers in March 2026, and the twin spires look much more like themselves after years behind hoarding. The Virgin Mary statue out front draws a steady stream of wedding and graduation shoots, and with the post office across the square the whole stop takes about half an hour. The priest heading the project has said the target is late 2027, funding permitting.
