A short pedestrian lane runs beside the Central Post Office, with bookshop stalls and cafes on both sides. Most of the books are in Vietnamese, so it is more for browsing covers and posters than for buying. A coffee under the trees here feels a world away from the crowds in front of the cathedral. The lane takes a couple of minutes to walk, so treat it as part of one loop with the post office and cathedral.
