Cross over to Hon Gai and the air changes from the Bai Chay hotel strip. The fish hall at the back of the market has basins of squid, crab and the morning catch. The ground-floor dried-goods aisle is hung with strings of dried squid, and the upper floors sell clothes and shoes. Ha Long's signature cha muc (squid cake) is sold at stalls inside and beside the market, fried fresh. Prices are open to haggling, so ask first.
