This was the site of the governor's palace when Spain ruled Guam. WWII bombing flattened most of it, leaving an arched gateway, a little pavilion called the Chocolate House and a few stone terraces scattered across the lawn. Next door, the white twin-towered Dulce Nombre de Maria Cathedral stands on the site of Guam's first church. Plaza, cathedral, the Guam Museum across the road and the Latte Stone Park a few minutes' walk away make an hour's history stroll.
