The building was designed by the Italian architect Aldo Rossi and finished in 1989. Amber travertine columns under aged-copper lintels make the facade a regular in architecture photos. After a roughly two-year renovation it reopened in October 2023 with 77 rooms. Reception and the 130-seat El Dorado lounge are on the basement level. Come for the architecture as much as the bed.
