Piazza della Repubblica 7, Florence

A Rocco Forte five-star taking up one side of Piazza della Repubblica. The Duomo is barely three minutes away and the Uffizi and Ponte Vecchio under ten, so you can drop your bags and be in the old town straight away. Square-side rooms look straight onto the carousel and café terraces, and the trade-off is noise late into the evening.
