A three-star on the upper floors beside the triumphal arch on Piazza della Repubblica. From the lobby to the rooms it's antique furniture and old-fashioned decor, and 'Florentine atmosphere' comes up in nearly every review. The Duomo, Ponte Vecchio and Uffizi are 5-10 minutes away, and breakfast, cappuccino with a smiley face included, gets good marks. The catch: you're right above the square, so expect evening noise, and the lift doesn't reach the attic rooms.
