The Dominican cloister is so quiet you can hear your own footsteps. At the top of the stairs Fra Angelico's Annunciation faces you on the wall, and along the corridor every monk's cell has a fresco of its own. Each cell has one small window, so the paintings still feel like prayers above a bed. Savonarola's rooms are at the far end of the corridor.
