From above it is a five-pointed star: a 17th-century fortress ringed by a moat, with grass and old trees on the ramparts. A windmill stands on the wall and red barrack buildings line the inner lanes. A full loop takes half an hour, so it slots neatly onto the walk to the Little Mermaid. Part of it is still a military site, so you will see soldiers about.
