Amalienborg Palace Square, on the axis between the Marble Church and the Opera House

Four identical rococo palaces ring an octagonal square, and the king still lives in one of them. Every day at noon, guards in black bearskin hats march from their barracks at Rosenborg through the city streets and change over on the square. When the king is in residence, a military band comes too and it becomes a proper show. From the square you get a straight line from the Marble Church's green dome to the Opera House across the water.
