The name means 'house beside the temple'. Small timber and mud-walled houses ring a terraced lawn, each one a studio selling ceramics, hand-dyed cloth, leather goods or illustrated postcards. Browse long enough and you'll be standing next to the owner at the potter's wheel or the dye vat. On Sunday mornings a small flea market fills the lawn, and there are cafés tucked between the shops when you need a break. It pairs easily in one loop with Wat Umong and No.39 Café.
