Walk Andrássy út to the very end and it opens onto a wide stone square. On top of the tall central column the Archangel Gabriel holds up a crown, and at its base the seven Magyar chieftains sit on horseback. Behind them two curved colonnades hold statues of kings and national heroes. It was raised for the 1896 millennium of the Hungarian state. The square itself takes minutes, but City Park, Vajdahunyad Castle and the Széchenyi baths start right behind it, so it works as the gateway to a half day.
