Pulling away from Vigadó tér and heading upstream, the palace and Fisherman's Bastion slide by on one side and the Parliament on the other, all lit up. The moment everyone waits for is the slow pass right in front of the Parliament: from the water it looks far longer than you expect, and every phone on deck goes up at once. The boat turns near Margaret Island, then runs back under the Chain and Elisabeth bridges. It gets cold on the river, so in late autumn the indoor seats fill first.
