For decades this was the bar at the mouth of La Boqueria, where Juanito in his bow tie greeted everyone. After a family dispute it moved to a corner of Sant Antoni Market in October 2023, run now by his nephew Jordi Asín. The day's ingredients sit on the counter so you can point, and there's a handwritten English menu. Chickpeas with black butifarra and the xuixo, a fried pastry filled with crema catalana, are the long-time classics. It's calmer than La Boqueria, so bar stools are easier to get.
