Push the worn door on Carrer de Sant Pau and you get dusty chandeliers, speckled mirrors and an old tiled floor. Said to have opened in 1820, it is among the oldest bars in Barcelona, and absinthe is the order, prepared the classic way with sugar and water. Stories say Picasso and Dalí drank here. It gets busier as the night goes on.
