One block off La Rambla, two parabolic-arch gates stand in a narrow lane. Gaudí built this mansion for the industrialist Eusebi Güell, and it is on the UNESCO list. Behind the gates the central hall rises into a dome pierced with star-like holes, and the roof carries a crowd of chimneys wrapped in tile fragments. That roof is the photo you have seen. The lane is so tight you cannot see the whole façade from outside.
