Walking down La Rambla, everyone stops to photograph a shopfront covered in stained glass, mosaic and wrought iron. This is the old Casa Figueras, decorated in 1902 in Modernista style and now home to the Escribà pastry family. The counters hold chocolate bonbons, cake slices, croissants and jewel-like caramel rings, with a few seats inside. It's right by La Boqueria, so it slots in after a market wander.
