Address
Carrer d'Olot, Gràcia; it sits on a hill, so every entrance involves a climb

Through the lower gate, two gatehouses that look like gingerbread stand on either side. Halfway up the stairs a lizard covered in broken tiles gapes at the crowd, and above it a forest of thick columns holds up a hall whose roof is the main terrace. Sit on the long, wriggling tiled bench at its edge and you get the city, the sea and the Sagrada Família towers in one sweep. It was meant to be a gated garden estate for rich families; the plots never sold, so it became a park.
