At the end of a Talat Noi lane, an old Chinese merchant's compound turned café. Walk through the weathered timber buildings and a courtyard full of antiques and you come out on an open terrace right on the Chao Phraya. Order at the counter first, then collect your tray when the buzzer goes. It's one item per person, and sunset over the river is peak time. Talat Noi is Bangkok's creative old-quarter neighbourhood of galleries and cafés, and this is where many walks there end.
