- Hours
- Hill always open; funicular roughly 9am–2:30am every 30 minutes (more often at peak). May change with season or weather
- Tickets
- Hill free. Funicular fares vary by source: roughly €7–10 one way, €10–13 return (confirm on site; mostly cash)
- Address
- From the funicular's lower station on Aristippou Street, Kolonaki, up to St George's chapel on the summit
At 277m it's the highest point in central Athens. From the railing by the white chapel of St George on top, the Acropolis floats in an endless sea of white buildings, with Piraeus and the Saronic Gulf beyond. As the sun drops toward the sea, the Parthenon's floodlights come on and the city lights up block by block. Ride the funicular through a tunnel in the rock, or walk 20–30 minutes up the pine-shaded path.
