A white, angular building that looks like a spaceship, five minutes by free ferry from behind Centraal. The exhibition halls treat film history like a walk-through experience, and the cinemas run everything from classics to new releases. The terrace cafe out front looks straight across the IJ to the old centre. You can even skip the exhibition and just come for the view.
