A free ferry from behind Centraal drops you at the foot of the tower in five minutes. The lift (with a light show in the ceiling) takes you up 20 floors to a deck with the whole red-roofed old town, the canal rings and the river traffic laid out below. The real reason people come is the swing on the roof edge: they buckle you in and it swings you out past the railing with nothing but river beneath your feet. If that's too much, sit in the bar and watch the sunset.
