Brush, ink and inkstone shops and calligraphy galleries line both sides of the stone-paved lane beside the Forest of Stelae. Inside, shopkeepers sometimes write characters with oversized brushes. There is a faint smell of ink, and walking it alone makes you feel in an old city. Continue to the nearby Chahualong area for more of the same atmosphere.
