¥5–20 pp
Address
Sajinqiao street, Lianhu

If the Muslim Quarter is for tourists, Sajinqiao is where Xi'an's Hui families actually eat breakfast. Stalls line up from 7:30 and the street is packed by ten. The thing to try is zenggao: sticky rice steamed in layers with sweet jujubes and beans, a lot like a sweet rice cake. It's scooped from a huge steamer, and here they sell smaller portions than at the South Gate morning market, so it's cheaper.
