Address
Sükhbaatar Square, Sükhbaatar District, right in front of the Government Palace; Peace Avenue runs along its south edge

In the middle stands the revolutionary hero Sükhbaatar on horseback; at the north end, a giant seated Chinggis Khaan looks down from the steps of the Government Palace, flanked by Ögedei, Khubilai and two mounted generals. The square was renamed Chinggis Square in 2013 and switched back to Sükhbaatar in 2016. The opera house, the old stock exchange and the sail-shaped Blue Sky Tower ring the edges, so it's the easiest place to get your bearings on day one. Weekends bring wedding shoots and kids chasing pigeons.
