A stack of tilted white boxes on Zhongshan North Road, this was Taiwan's first museum devoted to modern art. The programme leans hard towards living artists, and the Taipei Biennial is held here. Big installations are the norm, so you see more people standing and staring than snapping photos. It is a good two or three hours on a rainy afternoon, and it pairs easily with the Yuanshan area for half a day.
