Din Tai Fung started on this stretch of Xinyi Road in 1972. That first shop (No. 194) now only does takeaway; to sit down, cross the street to the four-storey building that opened in 2020. With 330 seats, even a long queue moves fairly quickly. Michelin points beyond the soup dumplings to the chilled sweet-and-sour pork ribs, bitter melon and pork rib soup, and steamed taro buns, and the branch sits on the 2026 Bib Gourmand list.
