This red-brick building opened in 1927 as an eye clinic run by a Japanese doctor named Miyahara. After decades of neglect, the Dawn Cake company restored it as a dessert shop. Inside, floor-to-ceiling wooden shelves hold gift boxes stacked like books, and nearly everyone says it looks like the Hogwarts library. Queue for the ice cream, then wander under the old brick arches; it's also a handy stop for pineapple cakes and tea to take home.
