The building was an eye hospital founded by Japanese ophthalmologist Miyahara Takekuma. Slated for demolition, it was rescued and restored by the pineapple-cake brand Dawn Cake. Inside, gift boxes fill towering shelves built like a library. Most of the queue is for the ice-cream counter by the door: pick from fruit, chocolate, tea and 'clinic formula' flavours, and each scoop comes with a free topping.
