Address
Through the gardens behind the Opera House and round Farm Cove to the tip of the point; the chair sits on Mrs Macquaries Road just outside the garden gates

Enter the gardens behind the Opera House, follow the seawall round Farm Cove, and at the point you reach a bench cut into the sandstone in 1810 for the governor's wife. From here the Opera House sits in front of the Harbour Bridge, the exact postcard shot. The gardens on the way are free, with big shade trees and lawns to flop on. It's a popular sunset spot, and since the chair is outside the garden gates you can still reach it after they close.
